Ars Reviews the Palm Pre, part 1
The Gist of this piece is that the Pre is a Blackberry killer rather than an iPhone killer and this because of it’s strength in Instant Messaging (IM). The writer draws a comparison with the OS/X app, Adium, which I myself use across Google, MSN, Yahoo and Facebook. Adium is comparable with Pidgin, the ‘I am not an idiot who uses just MSN’ app for Windows, Mac or Linux.
Thus, where the iPhone is for graphical point-and-clickyness and the Blackberry for corporate email connectedness, the Pre is the social butterly’s platform of choice.
Presence is where the moble IP Telephony revolution begins and this is baby footsteps in the right direction.
